What is the Audi Advanced Key?
Audi puts a premium on comfort and ease of use. This is why all new models that we have in our showroom come with keyless entry and start. This technology lets you access to your car and begin driving, while keeping your key fob in pocket or purse.
This system is controlled by proximity sensors located in the trunks, doors and key fobs. Here are some things you should be aware of Audi Advanced Key:
1. Proximity Detection
An Audi with proximity detection allows you to open and start your vehicle without having to take the key out of your purse or pocket. This authorization and access system works by enabling a data exchange between your convenience key and your car that allows you to unlock the trunk and doors, and even start the engine with just one press on your key.
A sound-based proximity sensor is also known as a capacitive proximity sensor uses acoustic waves to detect the presence of objects in close proximity. The sensors produce an electrical signal by using an oscillator. This signal is then sent into the air by an audio microphone, which converts it to an audio file. The audio files are compared to determine the degree of similarity and how close they are. When they are within a certain distance to each other, the system will send a wake-up message to the key. It will also send an ID signal to the vehicle.

Proximity detection is just the first step to a more comfortable driving experience. The Audi advanced key also has remote start capabilities, which allows you to start your car's engine from outside of the range of your key FOB. This is helpful when you are loading groceries in the boot, or securing your children in their seats or packing for an excursion with your family.
Audi pre sense basic is a security feature which helps you to avoid accidents by taking action prior to the collision happens. It makes use of data from other systems, including the front camera, radar sensors and Audi side assist to determine the likelihood and warn drivers. It also triggers automatic braking when speeds are up to 250 km/h (155.3) and notify the driver by displaying an alert message displayed in the head-up and virtual cockpit display.

2. Authentication
The Audi advanced key system communicates directly with the car sensors when you hit the lock button on your key fob. This sends a confirmation code to the computer of the car to confirm that it's a valid key fob. This safeguards against any unauthorized access to the vehicle without the correct key fob.
The key fob can be used to also start the vehicle from a pocket or purse. Audi's advanced key system uses proximity sensors inside the trunk lid as well as the doors and key fob. The sensors open the doors when the key fob is in close proximity to the vehicle (about five feet). Then, when you pull the door handle or open the trunk, the vehicle recognizes your key and starts the engine.
You can also make use of your key fob in order to activate the start-up feature of your vehicle's push button. You can start the engine by pressing the Start/Stop buttons that are integrated into the center console, if the key fob is in your pocket or purse. The car's sensors will check that the key fob is genuine and begin the engine when they've verified it.
The Audi advanced key system has a keyless entry feature that lets you unlock your car doors by simply pressing the exterior door handle. This is extremely practical when your hands are stuffed or when you're wearing gloves, such as when you're bringing groceries or children in the car. The system also comes with an option to release the trunk, so you can unlock the trunk by a kick gesture, another helpful feature when you're carrying a lot on your hands.

3. Keyless Entry
A keyless entry system is a great convenience, especially when you're carrying groceries, kids or other gear. You can unlock your car by pressing a button or sensor on the door handle (some models have the technology built into the lock). The key fob can also activate the sensors inside the vehicle if you are carrying it. This lets it know that you are in the vicinity and that your finger is at the touch of a button. This prevents unauthorised use of your vehicle by ensuring that only you can unlock the doors.
A keyless entry system will often include the ability to remotely start your car without the use of a physical key. This is accomplished through sensors in the trunk, tailgate and sometimes even in the doors of the vehicle. The sensors will start the engine of the vehicle and open the doors when the fob is within a specific distance of the vehicle - usually around 5 feet. Then, you can press an appropriate button to start your car. This is a great method to get your car warm and cozy before you leave for work in the morning or when it's cold outside.
Some of the more advanced variations of keyless entry do not require a key fob at all. These vehicles can be opened and unlocked using a smartphone application. This is a great solution for business owners and families who want to give their employees an easy way to use company vehicles. Some keyless entry systems can even keep track of the driver's preferred seat position as well as the temperature of the cabin. This is a huge time saver while you're pulling towards the parking lot.
One of the more advanced keyless entry systems includes a rear hatch feature that can be activated by simply a simple gesture of the foot. It will shut and secure the cargo area in a matter of seconds. This feature is available in many Audi models and can be offered as a standard feature, or an upgrade depending on the model. These systems aren't secure, and could be tampered with by thieves with some technical expertise.
4. Push-Button Start
In contrast to many other vehicle brands, Audi does not offer remote start on its vehicles that are manufactured in factory capacity. Audi offers a different option that has similar features to remote start, dubbed the Audi Advanced Key.
This isn't an automatic remote start system, but it's a great option for those who want to start their car without having to insert the key. This feature allows you to unlock the doors of your Audi A4 or start the car by pressing a single button. This button is in the same place as the ignition on a conventional car.
To activate The Key Lab , you will need to have your key fob in your pocket and be close enough to the car. Sensors in the trunk and door handles will be activated when you and your key fob are within approximately five feet of the vehicle. If you receive a clear signal and the correct code, the vehicle will then allow you to close the doors or start the engine.
You can begin driving your Audi A4 with the touch of a button without having to dig around in your purse and pockets to find your keys. This feature is perfect for those who spend long hours in parking lots, and it can be beneficial if you need to quickly warm up your vehicle for a commute or to run for errands.
Once you are inside your vehicle it continues to communicate with your key fob. This is done using encrypted signals to avoid the hacker from gaining access to your key fob. You can also use the Keyless Go Card as a backup. It's a credit card sized card that can be used to open the vehicle in case your key fob fails or gets lost.
If your vehicle is fitted with the Audi Advanced Key and you have trouble getting it to start, there could be an issue with the key or the vehicle. The local Audi dealer can assist with this. They can carry out a procedure in the user's manual that will fix the keys and the vehicle.
